The power of completion

“Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.”  -William James

I read an article by Mel Robbins in Success Magazine entitled “How to Assess 2012.”  The gist of the article was that it’s very hard to move into 2013 with new goals, new ideas, new aspirations, etc. when we’re still stuck back in 2012 with incompletions.  She was referring to all the things we said we wanted to accomplish, all the goals we had set for 2012 that didn’t get accomplished, or only got partially accomplished.  She described a process she uses to go through 2012 in its entirety and assess what she accomplished and what was incomplete, and then be OK with the incompletions (go to Success Magazine, December 2012, page 32 for the full article).  In other words, let go.  Only then can you move into 2013 with no excess baggage that you’re dragging along from 2012.  Made a lot of sense.  So where are you stuck with incompletions from last year?  And can you let them go and move into the present so that your 2013 will be absolutely outrageous and glorious?
